Monica Gorini, who grew up on Lake Orta, develops her own point of view on jardins d’eau by relating water to the substantial role of light.

“Water drinks light but also reflects it, in a multiplicity of sudden and diffused splen- dours. At times it captures light laying it down gently, like a veil on its surface, breaking down and dematerializing the reflections into abstract forms, almost monochromatic wakes, swaying on its soft mirror. Opacity and transparency are also closely related to the effects of the air and its “thickness”. Together with the plants I register the reflexes of other natural elements, modified by the passage of elusive and mysterious flashes.”

Monica Gorini, cresciuta sul Lago d’Orta, sviluppa un suo punto di osservazione sui jardins d’eau mettendo in relazione l’acqua con il ruolo sostanziale della luce.

“L’acqua beve la luce ma la riflette anche, in una molteplicità di splendori improvvisi e diffusi. A volte la cattura deponendola dolcemente, come un velo sulla sua superficie, scomponendo e smaterializzando i riflessi in forme astratte, scie quasi monocromati- che, ondeggianti sul suo specchio molle. Opacità e trasparenza sono in stretta relazio ne anche con gli effetti dell’aria e del suo “spessore”. Insieme alle piante registro i riflessi degli altri elementi naturali, modificati dal passaggio di inafferrabili e misteriosi bagliori.”
